Hello, my name is Patricia Tyson, owner and founder of The Sugar Conscious Bakery, LLC. I am a singer/songwriter and a registered nurse (hospice), with a a passion for baking. I am constantly inspired by global cuisines and food cultures. I'm from Chicago, living in Northwest Indiana. My commercial kitchen is located in Hammond, IN at the Hammond Development Coroporation, where I bake amazing wheat-free, sugar-free loaf cakes that are scratch-made,, to order.

In 2022 I was diagnosed with Diabetes Mellitus-type 2 and my relationship and approach to food were drastically changed. I have researched natural, rare sweeteners that don't affect the blood sugar that have no after-taste. When I eliminated wheat flour and refined sugar from my diet, my A1C decreased from 8.7 to 5.8 in 6 months. As I continue on my healthy journey, I want to share what I've learned with others.
